I started taking the two boys out and about. This is our second outting up the canyon from us. The we visited a famous bell tower. |  |  |  | | | | China Day 10 Night Ride November 08, 2008 At night, we took a ride on the boats along the small river by our hotel. We did this last time with Noah's adoption, so we had to do it again. |  |  |  | | | | China Day 9 November 07, 2008 This day we rented a van and drove around trying to find Jonah's finding spot. We visit Dr Ming Tomb and Joshua gets our small Point-and-Shoot camera and takes some pretty good pictures with it (better than mine). |  |  |  | | | | China Day 6 November 04, 2008 After we have Jonah for 24 hours, we go back to the Chinese office and finalize the adoption. We have the option of not taking him (it does happen sometimes and it's heart breaking). Afterwards, we nap and take a small boat ride (with me driving). |  |  |  | | | | China Day 5 November 03, 2008 This is the day we get to me Jonah for the first time. After a sad good bye to his nanny, we take him home (to the hotel). We also meet some people from Noah's orphanage (they remember him). |  |  |  | | | | China Day 4 November 02, 2008 Now that we've spent some time in Shang Hai, we finally board a train for Nanging to adopt Jonah. |  |  |  | | | | China Day 3 November 01, 2008 We finally settle into our hotel and wake the next day to a breakfeast and some sight seeing. Our guide brings us to a park with bird feeding. We also visit a peral place and have tea at a tea house. we finish off the day with an acrobatic show. |  |  |  | | | | China Day 3 October 31, 2008 It's all so confusing. We lost a day coming to China, but we're finally there in Shang Hai. We take a red-eye fight to Shang Hai China. We will spend a few days there and take a train to Nanging. |  |  |  | | | | Boo at the Zoo October 25, 2008 Every year, the LA Zoo hosts their Halloween festival called "Boo at the Zoo." Everyone dresses up in costumes and there are sections of the zoo were they give out candy. Sweets and animals, what more could you ask for. |  |  |  | | | | Farm Field Trip October 08, 2008 Starting with some random pictures from the mall and Burger-King. The kids had a field trip with the Early Start Program. They went to some farm-fare with animals and produce. |  |  |  | | | | Noah's 3rd Birthday October 05, 2008 Noah's 3 years old! With Great Western War around the corner and our life being crazy (when isn't it crazy), we opted for the ease of Chuck-E-Cheese. We celebrated at Chuck-E-Cheese with some family and friends. |  |  |  | | | | Lee's Birthday September 28, 2008 Our friend Lee celebrated his ??? birthday. We got a babysitter and went bowling with the gang. It was very nice to enjoy ourselves as adults (well, we didn't act like adults at the bowling alley). I had a point and shoot and didn't want to use a flash, so the pictures are a bit noisy. |  |  |  | | | | Santa Clarita Street Festival September 27, 2008 Every year, Santa Clarita shuts down main street in old downtown Newhall. There a bunch of vendors and chalk street painters. The kids had fun at this art booth sponsored by 661arts.com. There's also a spot with chalk just for kids. |  |  |  | | | | OLPH BBQ September 20, 2008 to September 21, 2008 Our church has a yearly BBQ to raise money. These are pictures from Saturday and Sunday. |  |  |  | | | | Nicoli's 3rd Birthday September 14, 2008 Our friends Colwyn and Tezar's child celebrated his 3rd birthday. They had a blow-up-jumping-thing and a slip and slide. Kate and Noah were unable to come since they were both sick. |  |  |  | | | | China Town Visit September 12, 2008 Kate and this kids took the train to downtown LA and I met them at ChinaTown to celebrate the Moon Festival. |  |  |  | | | | Train & Beach Day August 22, 2008 Kate took the kids on a train ride from Santa Clarita to Downtown LA. Then took a bus to Santa Monica. Then we all went to the beach for fun. |  |  |  | | | | Joshua Summer Soccer August 21, 2008 This was Joshua's last summer soccer session. They played Joshua against 2 other kids. Joshua is pretty aggressive and competitive with it. |  |  |  | | | | Noah's Court August 06, 2008 This is the final step in Noah's adoption. Noah is register with the state of California as our child. It's mostly for paperwork. If Noah needs his birth certificate, he doesn't need to travel to China to get it. |  |  |  | | | | Dressage Olympic Trials July 25, 2008 Kate and Cynthia traveled south to the Olympic finals for Dressage. She too many pictures, but here are the best. BTW, you can get sunburned from the reflection off the bleachers (Kate found out the hard way). |  |  |  | | | | Music at the Zoo July 22, 2008 Once a year, the LA Zoo opens the park up to members with music groups stationed around the park. We really enjoy the "Masanga Marimba Ensemble" group. There was a also an SCA-like drum group who were very fun to listen to. |  |  |  | | | | Thomas' Birthday July 20, 2008 Our friend's kid (Thomas) had his birthday party at this neat little party house. The place is rigged up with a few rooms with kid type things. The kids do crafts and run-a-muck. |  |  |  | | | | Forth of July Parade July 04, 2008 Santa Clarita has a 4th of July parade every year. I even was in it when I was younger. Kids had a great time. |  |  |  | | | | Joshua's First Soccer Practice April 14, 2008 I signed up Joshua to a soccer practice with the city. If he likes this, we will try AYSO next year when he turns 5. Joshua really dug this practice and could not wait to do it again. |  |  |  | | | | Easter March 23, 2008 to March 12, 2008 Easter weekend. We woke up, went to church, and hunted for Easter Eggs. We spent the day at Batista's Party (at Lee's house). |  |  |  | | | | Joshua's 4th Birthday February 10, 2008 We celebrated Joshua's 4th birthday at Chuck-E-Cheese. We had a few friends and family along. Joshua's real birthday is on the 16, but we'll be at Estrella instead. |  |  |  | | | | Kate's Horse Show January 20, 2008 We are planning on selling Graf, so this would be the last show for Kate. Cynthia paid for this show as a Christmas present (thanks Cynthia). Kate did pretty well. |  |  |  | | | | Rose Parade January 01, 2008 Rose Parade floats. After the parade, they park the floats and people can get up close and personal with them. We have a friend who lives on the parade route and invites us over (Thanks Tim). Kids had fun, but we couldn't make the whole route. We only saw about half of the floats. |  |  |  |
